Join us for a 3 day, 2 night journey introducting the Himalayan Meditation practice.
By the end of the weekend, you will leave feeling inspired and capable to continue with your own daily meditation practice.
Is this the right time?
They say that the best time to plant a tree was 10 years ago.
The second best time is today.
The journey of meditation is just like a seed; the sooner you plant it, the sooner you will enjoy its fruit.
Our life changing retreats are hosted at our traditional Yoga and Meditation Ashram, set on 50 acres of pristine bush in the Grampians, just 3.5 hrs from Melbourne.
More than just a venue, we live and breath the practices we share and honour this land as sacred.
Our full time volunteers are here to support and guide you during your stay.
An ancient seed is waiting...
Did you know that Himalayan Meditation is a traditional, internal practice that has its roots in a lineage that is over 800 years old?
The living meditation Master H.H. Shree Shivkrupanand Swami brought the Himalayan Meditation practice from the mountains of Nepal and India, into modern society with the intent to provide a simple, clear, universal meditation practice for the benefit of humanity.
What's included at the Soul Retreat
So what do 'I' have to do?
The Himalayan Yogis knew that all effort and trying eventually disturbs the mind.
Thus, they developed a meditation where you do nothing.
One must learn simply to let go and surrender to to one’s own higher Self.
Learn to care for the seed
Anyone can plant a seed, but it takes an experienced gardener to show you how to care for it. Someone who has themselves, been on the journey of meditation.
A little water and the right practical advice go a long way.
At our Soul Retreat, you will learn how to establish and maintain your own daily meditation practice, so that you can enjoy your own inner peace and equanimity, a life free from anxiety and stress.
Here are some of the activities that you will participate in;
An ancient practice of meditation based upon the inner feeling of Surrender. It is a silent, seated, non physical practice of 30 minutes conducted both individually and as a group.
Enliven your body with introductory movement sequences and warm ups, readying you for the activity of the day.
Allow us to guide you through sounds into a deep rest of body and mind.
Nepalese healing bowls, handpan, gong, drum, and sacred mantra are woven into a divine soundscape.
Experience a reconnection to your inner creative self, a place from where the fun of creation emerges.
Be prepared for healing, insight, laughter and maybe tears. No skills or talent are required!
Allow yourself to be guided to reconnect through your senses to nature, based on indigenous meditative practices from the mountains of Nepal.
Traditional Fire Ceremony
Participate in a 5000+ year old authentic ceremony with the aim of purifying one’s awareness and connecting to the elements of nature. We will guide you both in the activity, and how each step is relevant to modern life.
10 years is a long time
Who would you be if you were able to remain calm, cool and centred no matter what life threw at you?
Who would you be if you were able to follow and trust your inner guide?
We share this meditation, because more than anything else we have done, it has delivered the greatest change for the smallest investment.
We have experienced radical transformation; in the way we relate to ourselves, others and to life.
When is the right time to plant this seed?
Only you will know that…

Meet your Hosts
David and Rajni
David and Rajni are the founders and managers of Kailash Ashram.
Their love and respect for the Ashram and its guests flows at the Soul level and unites their worship of the sacred with artful expression, craftsmanship and devotion to the traditions and lineage to which they belong.
David seeks to bring honour to the lineages to which he belongs and weaves insight, activities and group facilitation from his diverse background.
The path of Hatha Yoga found David at 18 years of age and he draws upon his experience underneath Sundernath of the Shadow Yoga school to share traditional Hatha Yoga.
The practice carried him through his tertiary education in Architecture and through his 13 years of service in the Army.
Very shortly after the Himalayan Mediatation practice entered his life, David left the defence force to pursue his Soul’s destiny which has led him deeper into the path of meditation and Yoga and to establish Kailash Ashram.
Rajni has been part of a team that established and shared meditation online with thousands of people since 2012. She has been meditating since 2007.
With Mauritian and Indian ancestry, Rajni grew up in France and has lived in the UK. She is at ease with all cultures, beliefs and ways of life and offers herself in service of the Ashram and the path of Himalayan Meditation.
She offers insight and observations on the devotional path in an accessible way for both those new to meditation and seasoned practitioners alike.
